Kambo
A carefully held space for intention, release and renewalPrivate one-to-one, couples and small group ceremonies in Lincoln, guided with thoughtful preparation, individual screening and grounded aftercare.
What is Kambo?
Kambo is the name commonly given to the secretion of the giant monkey tree frog, Phyllomedusa bicolor. It has a long history of ceremonial use among some Indigenous communities of the Amazon.
During a ceremony, a small number of superficial points are made on the skin and a carefully considered amount of Kambo is applied. It is not psychedelic, but it creates a short and often very intense physical response.
People may approach the ceremony with intentions around letting go, discipline, clarity or personal change. I hold Kambo as a ceremonial practice rather than a medical treatment or cure.
What your experience includes
Before
We begin with a conversation and full health screening. You will receive clear preparation guidance and have space to ask questions before deciding whether Kambo is right for you.
The ceremony
Your ceremony is approached slowly and individually. I create a calm, private setting and remain present throughout the full physical process.
Aftercare
There is time afterwards to rest, ground and reflect. I will explain what to expect during recovery and remain available for appropriate follow-up support.
A grounded approach
My role is not to tell you what Kambo will do for you. It is to help you make an informed choice, screen carefully and hold the experience with presence, honesty and respect.
I bring my own lived experience of addiction recovery and personal transformation, while recognising that every person, body and intention is different. There are no promises of healing or guaranteed outcomes.
Safety comes first
Kambo can cause an intense acute reaction including vomiting, facial swelling, changes in heart rate and blood pressure, dizziness and fainting. Serious complications and deaths have also been reported.
It is not suitable for everyone. Certain heart, circulatory, neurological, kidney, liver and mental health conditions, pregnancy and some medications may make Kambo unsafe. This is not a complete list, which is why honest screening is essential.
Kambo is not a licensed medicine or a substitute for medical care. If there is any uncertainty, I may ask for medical clearance or decline to facilitate.
Private ceremonies in Lincoln
Sessions are available one-to-one, for couples and for small private groups. Ceremonies can be held at a private venue or, where the setting is suitable, in your own home.
We will talk through your reasons for coming, your health and your expectations before confirming a booking. You are never pressured to continue if the practice is not right for you.
Begin with a conversation
If you are considering Kambo, the first step is a private, no-pressure conversation about your intentions, health and any questions you have.
